The magical variety of celebrant training

We explore the arrival of a new baby and naming ceremonies, a formal welcoming of a child into the community and an occasion that, when you become a humanist celebrant, you bring to glittering life. We think about the unusual roles of children in modern weddings, and reveal a sense of what you will bring to families, that wonderful sense of importance behind every rite of passage.

As professional celebrants, we help all sorts of people create beautiful, meaningful and empowering ceremonies. Together we'll explore the power of birth and rebirth, namely the transition from an assigned gender to a new one, an event which can come with huge psychological upheaval, and massive changes in family circumstances.

The Aboriginal Walkabout, the Jewish Bar or Bat Mitzvah, the Catholic first communion

There are coming of age ceremonies in most faiths, and in every culture. Our job is to help families explore their ideas and then synthesize something beautiful and meaningful from them, creating events that people – young and old - will never forget. This video looks into them, as well as how celebrants help families celebrate important life events like the adoption of a child.

Become a humanist celebrant and help people celebrate their divorce

In the past, divorce was relatively rare. Now it's common, and more and more people want to mark their parting in some way, either celebrating it together or separately. We examine these incredibly moving, often difficult to negotiate ceremonies, and the healing power they deliver.
