How it all works

In this video, we look at some of the finances around being a celebrant, and work through some pricing examples, one for weddings and one for funerals. Don't worry. It isn't hard. This is not complex math! We also provide a Google spreadsheet for you to plug in your own numbers and reveal how much work you'll have to do in order to earn what you need. The spreadsheet is sufficiently flexible to model the income for any career, not just being a professional celebrant, so it's seriously useful.

How our celebrant training courses put you in control

We examine how being a professional celebrant lets you control your own working week, set your own hours, and be completely flexible. We also provide you with a financial framework that has proved pretty accurate over the years, a spreadsheet you can tinker with to test various assumptions about the way your life as a celebrant might work.

It's an exciting insight, knowing how much you can bill clients for. You can easily figure out how much time you might spend on paperwork, expenses, invoicing, paying bills, sales activities, and continuing professional education to help you be the best possible celebrant you can be.

We look into the work-life balance, and the benefits of self-employment. And we pin down that all-important tricky question – what should your hourly rate be? It's one of the most difficult questions that self-employed people get badly wrong, but with us on your side you'll get it right.

We even provide a link to a site where you can work out how much your car is costing you to run. And we look at professional indemnity and public liability insurance. And we explore the advantages of IPC membership.

Train to be a celebrant - A quick worked example for funerals and weddings

We'll work through the math for weddings together, and funerals, and explain how understanding your market and your own needs informs you about the right amount of money to charge. And we introduce a very special exclusive offer from Mile High Matrimony.
